Mechanical Test Technician

VSI is seeking a Test Services Engineering Technician to join our growing mechanical test services group. This position will work with Test Engineers and other lab members to execute test protocols for products at various stages throughout the lifecycle, from development to manufacturing. If you have sound mechanical testing experience and would like to make a strong impact in advancing the safety and soundness of VSI’s products, all while having the opportunity to grow your own skills and advance in your career, we would love to hear from you.
You’ll have the opportunity to grow and develop in your career as a Mechanical Test Technician by being responsible for:
  • Providing timely and accurate testing support for product development and manufacturing activities
  • Preparing, performing and documenting product tests to evaluate product through  Design verification, Process Qualification, accelerated aging, real-time aging, and others per test procedures, protocols, and schedules
  • Performing a variety of leak, tensile, torsional, inspection, packaging, burst, and other test methods on life-saving vascular medical devices such as catheters, guidewires, and related products
  • Assist in developing and validating test methods, procedures and equipment for specific applications
  • Assisting in investigations of non-conformances contributing to root cause investigations
  • Maintaining and enforcing GLP/GMP

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline or two years of related experience
  • Aptitude for understanding written and oral instruction, adhering to schedules, and maintaining documentation and traceability of product, equipment, and instructions
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Engineering
