Extrusion Technician II

VSI is seeking a Technician experienced in supporting extrusion for our internal component manufacturing group. The environment is fast-paced with a lot of variety, where technicians may set up, troubleshoot, and tear down a wide variety of machines. If you are a hands-on technician skilled in operating and troubleshooting extruders, and possess a high degree of both curiosity and drive, we would like to hear from you as we build our team!   
 
You’ll have the opportunity to grow and develop in your career as an Extrusion Technician by being responsible for:
 
  • Manufacturing extruded catheter components  for development projects and existing production lines
  • Completing assignments that improve quality, increase capacity, reduce scrap, and/or reduce cost of goods
  • Assisting Engineers with troubleshooting and solving line issues
  • Performing other tasks related to the development and production of catheter components as needed
 
 
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in extrusion of small, precision parts
  • Proficiency in use of video inspection equipment
  • Ability to read and comprehend policies and processes with excellent communication and multi-tasking skills
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Two-year degree in engineering technology or relevant technical field
  • Experience within medical device manufacturing or development
  • Experience developing and/or manufacturing complex extrusions such as multi-lumen, bump shaft, tri-layer and/or co-extrusion
  • Experience using ultrasonic inspection systems
