Pr. Supplier Quality Engineer

VSI is seeking a seasoned Supplier Quality Engineer to join our product quality engineering team. The Supplier Quality Engineer will provide supplier quality expertise to a newly-developing team across the company’s entire product portfolio and supply chain. If you can best be described as a “go-to-person” for med device supplier quality, and are excited to take a next career step in applying what you’ve learned to build something new, we would like to hear from you as we build this critical part of our organization.
 
 
You’ll have the opportunity to grow and develop in your career as a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer by being responsible for:
 
  • Making significant impact in advancing the overall supplier quality function
  • Working with Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Suppliers to continuously improve performance of key system components (increase lifecycle, reduce scrap, improve repair processes) by implementing process controls and develop quality assurance plans
  • Tracking data, identifying improvement projects, and managing cross functional implementation to improve performance of key components and suppliers
  • Working with management to develop and manage essential supplier quality metrics such as: Nonconformance Tracking, Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), supplier performance records, reporting of supplier performance and status
  • Providing leadership and strategic input to assure quality infrastructure and capability as the company grows
     
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • BS in Engineering or physical sciences
  • Nine years of recent, relevant engineering experience in the med device industry
  • Strong understanding of supplier assessment
  • Track record in having owned Supplier Corrective Actions and root cause investigations
  • Advanced knowledge of quality related tools including, but not limited to, AQP, DOE and Quality Systems requirements
  • Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn new processes with little direction
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Broad, multi-functional engineering background
  • Versatile exposure in product and commodity scope
