Sr. Process Development Engineer

VSI is seeking a new engineering team member for our biological Process Development group. This position is an ideal opportunity for a mechanically and chemically inclined engineer from the combination product / pharma PD or Manufacturing space to own process development and transfer biological projects from initiation to completion.
 
You’ll have the opportunity to grow and develop in your career as a Sr. Process Development Engineer by being responsible for:
 
  • Developing and documenting manufacturing processes capable of producing biological products to meet established design specifications and cost targets in a timely and efficient manner
  • Planning, coordinating and executing process validations and transferring processes and equipment into manufacturing
  • Coordinating with manufacturing to produce initial finished goods inventory for new product launches
  • Coordinating, directing and executing systematic process development activities such as process characterization, DOE, qualification and validation builds
  • Identifying and pursuing systemic improvement opportunities to maximize efficiency
 
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • BS in Engineering discipline
  • Proven experience with chemical processing and formulation
  • 5+ years of recent, relevant experience
  • Independent problem-solving and analytical skills including the ability to perform data analysis and process capability analyses
  • Comprehension of, and track record of executing, process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration and organizational skills
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • BS in Chemical Engineering
  • Previous engineering experience specifically with pharma, biological and/or combination products (i.e. embolic products, pharmacological products, drug elusions, etc.)
