Sr. Process Development Engineer

VSI is seeking a new engineering team member for our mechanical Process Development group. This position is an ideal opportunity for a mechanically as well as chemically inclined engineer from the med device PD or Manufacturing space to own development and transfer projects from initiation to completion.
 
You’ll have the opportunity to grow and develop in your career as a Process Development Engineer by being responsible for:
 
  • Developing and documenting manufacturing processes capable of producing products to meet established design specifications and cost targets in a timely and efficient manner
  • Developing sound processes for manufacturing hydrophilic coatings
  • Planning, coordinating and executing process validations and transferring processes and equipment into manufacturing
  • Coordinating with manufacturing to produce initial finished goods inventory for new product launches
  • Identifying and pursuing systemic improvement opportunities to maximize efficiency
 



 
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Five years of recent, relevant experience in the med device industry
  • Experience working with polymers
  • Comprehension of, and track record of executing, process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ)
  • Independent problem-solving and analytical skills including the ability to perform data analysis and process capability analyses
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical competency with manufacturing equipment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration and organizational skills
 
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Chemistry training
