Manufacturing Engineer II

VSI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our internal component manufacturing group. In this position you will have versatility in your work load and have the opportunity to be self-directed. If you are someone who is hands-on and takes initiative to get the job done through your strong curiosity and drive, we would love to hear from you.
 
You’ll have the opportunity to grow and develop in your career as a Manufacturing Engineer II by being responsible for:
 
  • Developing, documenting and ensuring the smooth, efficient production of catheter component-based processes (extrusion, reflowing, braiding, coil winding, laser cutting/welding, thermoforming, etc.)
  • Coordinating, directing, and executing systematic process development activities such as DOE to establish process limits
  • Planning, coordinating, and executing process qualifications and validations to support production
  • Planning and executing projects that improve quality, increase capacity, reduce scrap and reduce COGS
  • Identifying and specifying equipment, tooling, and fixture requirements to produce product per design specifications
     
 
 
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • BS in Engineering discipline
  • Two years of recent, relevant engineering experience in the med device industry
  • Understanding of design, process/product development and manufacturing of component based processes for medical devices including extrusion, reflow, thermoforming, braiding/coil winding and laser processes or other related manufacturing processes
  • Ability to understand quality system methodologies and regulations
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical competency in basic manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, product requirements and specification documents
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Specific experience with extrusion, coil winding, and/or braiding processes
